“What I love most about working in dermatology is the opportunity to talk with patients about their skin health.”
After working in the dermatology department at the Boulder Medical Center for 18 years, Kim is at a fantastic new Boulder dermatology office, Evolution Dermatology +Wellness. https://evolutiondermatology.com/
Kim is a proud Boulder native, but has also lived in Austria, Belgium, Ecuador and Taiwan. Kim loves Boulder and was happy to return home after traveling and working abroad.
Kim completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puget Sound, obtaining a B.A. in English and a minor in Biology.
She attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for her M.S. and her P.A. degrees.
“The reason I love working in medicine is the opportunity to talk to patients about their health and skin conditions. I have a strong passion for diagnosing, advising, and overseeing treatment plans for patients of all skin types and ages. I truly enjoy educating patients on how to care for and protect their skin.”
Prior to her career in medicine, Kim worked in international travel, helping clients arrange trips around the world and setting up visas for American students who worked abroad. Before working in travel, she taught English as a second language for K-12th students in Taiwan.
“My great love for exploring other countries and cultures was sparked by traveling around the globe at age ten with my parents and two younger siblings, this life-changing trip, as well as studying and working abroad since then has inspired me to keep traveling and exploring our incredible world with my husband and two daughters.”
Kim and her family still enjoy many opportunities to see the world. Her husband, Rick, manages Natural Habitat Adventures, a local company that operates international eco-based wildlife tours. Kim has also taken part in medical trips to Costa Rica, Ecuador, India, and Kenya.
When not working or traveling, Kim loves to be outside, hiking with friends and trail running in beautiful Colorado.
Kim is the immediate past President of the Colorado Dermatology Physician Assistant Society and an active member of SDPA and CAPA.
